I believe that the Peloton handlebars start turning white not because they are dirty but because they are getting dried out.
Maybe they're getting dried out because of all the cleansers... or sweat... or time.
After routine cleaning I occasionally rub a very tiny bit of vegetable oil into the handlebars, then wipe off all the excess with a dry towel.
