Carpool Code Of Conduct

The goal of carpooling is to provide efficiency to everyone involved.
At the same time, we become reliant on each other and responsible to each other.

A harmonious carpool is a treasure.

Please take time to read these rules that facilitate smooth and successful carpooling.

For everyone's success I INSIST:

1a. You are obligated to cover your drives. If you can't drive, find a trade.
1b. If you are making a permanent trade, update all affected people, and edit the change into the master list.

2. Drivers should pick up with ample time to arrive at the destination on time.

3. Your child/ren must be ready to go on time. When the carpool pulls up, your child/ren should immediately go directly to the car.

4. Inform your carpools of any absences for any reason and as far in advance as possible.

5. In the event of an unconventional schedule (ex: one-way rides, rain dates, schedule changes, etc.), please communicate with your carpool team and figure out an amicable solution.

6. In the event of any carpooling errors, behave peacefully. Be quick to apologize. Be quick to forgive. Then move on.

7. Keep your contact information updated with your carpooling group. It is also helpful to share the children's phone numbers. It is ideal to create a group text for the sole purpose of communicating carpool information.

8. Detours are not acceptable. You may not run errands while transporting the carpool nor cause any non-carpool related delays, unless approved in advance.

Guiding principles, for harmony:
It is preferable to go a little out of your way for the collaborative benefit of carpooling, vs driving on your own every single time.

Drive generously when you can. Rely on others when you must. Take a long range view: over the many years you will carpool your children, it will all come out even.

Peace.
